Librarian Assistant Grade S1 responsibilities need to be adjusted according to the officer’s level of position: assisting, operating and supervising the documentation of library materials; assisting, operating and supervising the financial work of the library; assisting, operating and supervising the necessary sources of information by user; assisting, operating and supervising the use of ICT applications; assisting, managing, and supervising the promotion of library services; assisting, operating and supervising the layout of library materials; assisting, managing, and supervising circulation and reference services; assisting, managing, and supervising matters related to the acquisition of library materials; and assisting, managing, and supervising library statistics.

Tasks

Assisting in placing orders for library materials recommended by officers or supervisors.

Assisting in preparing catalogues and brief indexes for all library materials.

Managing and handling the financial affairs of the library.

Assisting in managing and processing records of acquisitions and payments for library materials.

Responding to simple reference inquiries regarding materials available in the library.

Responsible for the use of library ICT applications.

Handling press clippings/articles related to subjects relevant to the department.

Recording all borrowings and returns of library materials.

Collecting and prepares library statistical reports.

Responsible for the conservation and security of library resources.

Managing the binding of library materials.
