Information Technology Technician installs, maintains, and troubleshoots computer systems, networks, and related hardware and software within an organisation. They provide technical support to ensure IT infrastructure operates efficiently, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues, and assisting users with system configuration, updates, and repairs both on-site and remotely.

Tasks

Set up, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, and networks.

Perform regular maintenance, repairs, and system upgrades to ensure optimal functionality.

Monitor system and network performance to detect and prevent issues.

Provide user support, guidance, and training on system and software usage.

Follow organisational IT security protocols and operational standards during all technical tasks.

Document procedures, troubleshooting steps, and solutions in IT ticketing or knowledge management systems.

Verify system operation and performance after installations or repairs.
