Tasks
Negotiating and entering into a contract for the purchase of equipment, raw materials, products and supplies as well as the purchase of merchandise for resale.
Obtaining information about requirements and stock, and determining the quantity and quality to be purchased, costs, delivery dates and other contract conditions.
Negotiating with suppliers and review quotations.
Purchasing of goods for resale by retail or wholesale establishments.
Reviewing of market reports, trade magazines and sales promotion materials and visit trade events, showrooms, factories and product design functions.
Selecting items or products that meet the needs of the establishment.
Interviewing suppliers and negotiate prices, discounts, credit terms and transportation arrangements.
Monitoring the distribution of goods store and maintain adequate stock levels.
Determining delivery schedules, monitorimg progress and contacting clients and suppliers to resolve problems.
Supervising, scheduling and monitoring the tasks of other workers.
