Assistant Food Technology Officer Grade C5 responsible for performing food sample analysis, preparing media and chemical materials as well as analytical equipment, conducting quality control on media and chemicals, issuing food sample analysis reports, and disposing of food samples, toxic, and pathogenic materials in accordance with established procedures.
Tasks
Reporting to the Chief of Laboratory/State Food Technology Officer/Head of Halal Hub Section, JAKIM.
Assisting in the receipt of routine, crisis, and research food samples, and conducts sub-sampling and sample analysis processes.
Preparing culture media, standard solutions, chemicals, and glassware, and performs quality control and calibration of laboratory equipment.
Managing inventory of chemicals, media, and equipment, preparing inventory reports, and disposing of samples, toxic, and pathogenic materials in accordance with procedures.
Assisting in the distribution of supplies for sampling activities and coordinating the allocation of educational and food safety materials.
Supporting monitoring of food safety and quality, promotional exhibitions, and updating the official filing system of the Food Safety and Quality Unit.
Conducting audits under MS 1500:2004, inspecting premises hygiene levels, preparing visit reports, and presenting inspection reports at Panel Meetings.
Managing the collection, delivery, and analysis of food samples, ingredient data collection, and assisting in Halal Verification Panel Meetings and Help Desk operations.

Basic
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in Bahasa Melayu and English.
Ability to provide professional opinions and advisory services.
Ability to write quality reports.
Computer skills.
Specific
Knowledge and skills in food technology, including microbiological and chemical analysis.
