Assistant Medical Officer Grade U5 responsible for providing health services to the community from the aspects of curative, preventive prevention, promotion, and rehabilitation in the health service system in Malaysia. Provides curative treatment, preventive care, and emergency assistance services at health centres including Static and Mobile Dispensaries, General Health Outpatient Department, and Accident and Emergency Department. Provides early and immediate treatment and support for all emergency cases and refer the cases for further handling to medical officers, provides assistance services in various Departments of Expertise, ward institutions and other programme.
Tasks
Examining and treating patients in accordance with Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and Clinical Practice Guideline (CPG), including basic initial treatment, asthma management, intravenous therapy, and patient preparation for specific treatment procedures.
Administering medications and injections according to protocol, monitoring treatment progress, reporting abnormal conditions/adverse effects, and recording vital signs and patient intake/output charts.
Attending to the special needs of patients, determining special diets, and collecting laboratory test samples in accordance with procedures.
Educating patients on health care related to diseases, and participating in health programmes/promotions such as PROSTAR, health camps, and national/state health campaigns.
Implementing patient rehabilitation, providing counselling for HIV/AIDS, drug addiction, psychoeducation for mental health patients, and dietary counselling for patients with conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and renal failure.
