Dental Therapist Grade U5 provides dental services in terms of diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and health promotion for children aged 17 years and below, with a focus on pre-school children, primary school, and secondary school students nationwide. Responsible for providing specialised dental services to achieve the goal of ensuring the community attains optimal oral health.
Tasks
Performing dental examination, diagnosis, and treatment (school children, pre-school/special needs children), infection control, and health safety.
Delivering health messages, nutritional advice, toothbrushing instruction, fissure sealing, health promotion, leaflets/posters, and participating in community projects under the dental health programme.
Providing counselling on periodontium/orthodontic conditions, dental health education, and instruction on toothbrushing techniques and the use of specialised toothbrushes.
Conducting periodontium, orthodontic, paediatric, and oral surgical treatment, including prophylaxis, scaling, polishing, root canal treatment, sedation, STO/dressing, and regimen monitoring.
Managing clinical data and records, daily/annual statements, and supports clinical audit, ISO, QAP, accreditation, and incident reporting.

Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
Skills in computer usage.
