Semi-Conductor Technician performs and oversees the fabrication of electronic semiconductors, handling processes such as loading materials, sawing ingots into wafers, and preparing wafers for further production. They operate, maintain, and troubleshoot wafer fabrication equipment in controlled cleanroom environments, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, performing preventive and predictive maintenance, calibrating equipment, and collaborating with engineers to optimise performance and support process improvements.

Tasks

Operate and maintain semiconductor fabrication equipment, including photolithography, etching, deposition, and chemical mechanical planarisation (CMP) tools.

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and calibrate semiconductor equipment to meet operational specifications.

Perform routine and preventive maintenance on semiconductor fabrication equipment.

Conduct tests and inspections to ensure product quality and equipment performance.

Assist engineers in process optimisation and production yield improvement.

Monitor gauges, dials, and indicators to ensure proper machine operation.

Maintain accurate records of equipment performance, maintenance activities, and process changes.

Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry standards in all operations.
