Laboratory Assistant Grade C1 responsible for assisting in conducting chemical analysis and physical testing on samples of metallic minerals, metals, alloys, clay, limestone, silicate sand, ceramics, ores, groundwater, coal, exploration samples such as sediments, soils, and so on for main elements related to it. Assisting Research Officers in carrying out research and development tasks in the field of nuclear technology and related technologies. Ensuring the cleanliness of the laboratory and its equipment in good condition and always usable, and maintaining stock records of laboratory materials.

Tasks

Assisting in chemical analysis of metals, alloys, clays, limestone, silicate sand, ceramics, ores, groundwater, coal, and exploration samples such as sediments, soils, and others; and conducting physical testing of industrial mineral samples such as clay, sand, and ceramic materials.

Maintaining laboratory cleanliness, safety, analytical procedures, and research and development (R&D) of nuclear or related technologies.

Assisting in the implementation of quality management systems ISO/IEC 17025, MS ISO 9000, and OHSAS 18001 occupational safety standards.

Managing documents, Permits To Work, quarantines, environmental control, hazardous cargo, and monitors port operations.

Supervising applications, handling, storage, statistics, and legal compliance of hazardous cargo.

Assisting the Hazardous Cargo Officer in disaster, crisis, unloading, and bunkering operations, and prepares reports, and certification letters.

Managing and implements School Programmes, Outreach Programmes, Special Programmes, and Public Programmes.

Maintaining safety, cleanliness, and upkeep of learning spaces such as laboratories, aquariums, and the Kids’ Discovery Place.
