Food Preparation Officer Grade C9 responsible for managing menu planning and the procurement of food ingredients required in standard recipes, and ensuring that food is prepared safely, hygienically, and to a high standard in compliance with established guidelines. Responsible in carrying out procurement of wet/raw and dry food items, managing food storage, pre-preparation cooking and serving food and ensure it is carried out according to established procedures. Supervising members under supervision to ensure compliance with discipline, task execution procedures and occupational safety regulations.
Tasks
Placing orders or procures wet/raw and dry food, enteral formulas, infant milk formulas, and special products, and ensuring receipt complies with orders and contract specifications.
Managing food and stock storage, including bulk stores, sub-stores, daily stores, chillers, and freezers, in accordance with storage procedures, stock record systems, hygiene, and safety requirements.
Supervising and ensuring food preparation complies with menus and standard recipes for normal diets, therapeutic diets, children’s diets, and doctor-on-call diets, while producing high-quality culinary output.
Planning menus and standard recipes, including diets with consistent modifications and nutrients.
Determining compliance with established quality indicators from the stage of receiving wet/raw and dry food from suppliers to food served to patients.
Performing administrative duties related to food services.
Ensuring personnel under supervision observe personal hygiene in every work process handled.
Recording inventory and capital assets, and inspecting and updating equipment stock to ensure accuracy of equipment records.
Skills
Basic
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in Bahasa Melayu and English.
Ability to prepare quality working papers and reports.
Ability to provide professional opinions, advisory services, and make accurate and timely decisions.
Computer handling skills.
