Medical Doctor (Cardiology) is responsible for the diagnosis, treatment, and management of heart and cardiovascular conditions in adult patients. They assess patient health through clinical evaluations, medical history reviews, and diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans that may include medication, lifestyle interventions, or interventional procedures. Tasks
Assess patients’ cardiovascular symptoms, medical histories and risk factors through consultation and physical examination.
Order, perform and interpret cardiovascular diagnostic tests.
Perform and interpret interventional cardiology procedures such as coronary angiography, stenting and pacemaker implantation, where credentialled.
Prescribe and manage medications, non-surgical treatments and interventional procedures for cardiovascular conditions.
Develop individualised treatment and follow-up plans for patients with cardiovascular conditions.
Manage long-term care for patients with chronic heart disease and related cardiovascular conditions.
Educate patients on cardiovascular health, disease prevention, lifestyle modification and treatment adherence.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams in routine patient care and cardiovascular emergencies.

Ability to provide clinical consultation, patient care and ongoing management for cardiology patients.
Competency in interventional cardiology procedures such as angioplasty, coronary stent placement and pacemaker implantation.
Knowledge in cardiac pharmacology and electrophysiology for cardiovascular treatment and patient management.
Knowledge in cardiology clinical guidelines and cardiac care protocols.
Knowledge in internal medicine principles relevant to the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular conditions.
Proficiency in interpreting and analysing cardiovascular diagnostic tests.
Proficiency in operating specialised cardiology equipment and monitoring devices used in cardiac procedures.
