Aircraft Examiner Grade AT13 responsible for performing tasks related to certification, engineering approvals, aircraft manufacturing (including recreational aircraft), flight testing, aircraft registration, airworthiness certification, approval of Air Operator’s Certificates, approval of maintenance organizations, aircraft inspections, and licensing of maintenance engineers.
Tasks
Planning and controlling Airworthiness administration to ensure duties are carried out effectively, smoothly, and efficiently.
Directing Airworthiness activities to fulfil responsibilities stipulated under the MCAR, including certification, engineering approvals, aircraft manufacturing (including recreational aircraft), flight testing, aircraft registration, certification of airworthiness, approval of Air Operator’s Certificates, approval of maintenance organisations, approval of maintenance manuals, aircraft inspections, and licensing of maintenance engineers.
Supervising and allocating daily duties to subordinate officers.
Ensuring that Airworthiness officers apply appropriate certification, inspection, and surveillance procedures and standards in accordance with their duties.
Planning and identifying training requirements to enhance the skills of Airworthiness officers in line with new technologies and new aircraft types.
Planning and formulating Airworthiness standards for application within the national civil aviation industry.
Planning and formulating policies, directives, and reference materials related to certification, manufacturing, and airworthiness of aircraft (including recreational aircraft) and their equipment.
Ensuring that assessments and approvals prescribed under national civil aviation regulations are complied with by the industry.
Monitoring the performance in terms of safety of Malaysian-manufactured aircraft (including recreational aircraft) and equipment by analysing product defect reports, approving Service Bulletins, and issuing Airworthiness Directives.
Providing expert services in the investigation of aircraft incidents and accidents, and maintains liaison with aircraft, component, and equipment manufacturers, as well as with ICAO and other national authorities, on Airworthiness requirements, practices, and regulations.
Skills
Basic
Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
Ability to plan tasks effectively and perform work efficiently.
Good personality and ability to act professionally, especially when dealing with customers.
Specific
Ability to write accurate and high-quality reports.
Experience as a flight instructor.
Proficiency in computer usage.
