Architect Grade J9/J10 responsible for managing the implementation of government development projects from the planning stage through to project handover. Coordinate the preparation of designs, drawings, tender documents, and project handover. Monitor the physical and financial implementation of projects under construction and ensure that projects are completed with quality, within the planned cost and timeframe, and in accordance with the requirements and expectations of stakeholders.
Tasks
Assisting the Project Management Group Leader in managing the implementation of projects under Categories II and III (Minimum Architect Fee Scale).
Managing project implementation in accordance with the JKR Quality Management System (MS ISO 9001).
Preparing the project Quality Implementation Plan (Q Plan), Amended Quality Plan, and periodic project monitoring reports.
Preparing project budget projections in accordance with the prescribed cost ceiling.
Coordinatingthe project handover process to ensure that the completed projects meet client requirements and the agreed Quality Implementation Plan (Q Plan).
Coordinating the appointment and payment of consultants, and supervising group officers under their responsibility.
Assisting the Director of Architecture in administering and managing the Architecture Unit, and controlling and coordinating the work of the unit staff.
Providing architectural advisory services, including construction site assessment, planning, design, materials, services, and standards, and ensuring that works are completed on schedule and to high quality.
Preparing Architectural Consultant appointment documents as approved by the Treasury for relevant projects.
Ensuring that the latest directives and circulars are complied with by staff under their supervision.
Skills
Basic
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in Bahasa Melayu and English.
Ability to lead a design team.
Ability to provide professional opinions, offer advisory services, and present strong arguments.
Specific
Ability in architecture and understanding of construction regulations and standards.
Ability to design and manage projects effectively.
Ability to produce high-quality reports.
Knowledge in architectural-related works such as interior design and landscaping.
Knowledge of project monitoring systems.
Skills in computer and multimedia.
