Wildlife Officer Grade G9 responsible for managing biodiversity resources in protected areas, enforcing the Wildlife Conservation Act 2010 [Act 716], the International Trade in Endangered Species Act 2008 [Act 686], the National Parks Act 1980 [Act 226], the Taman Negara Enactment (Pahang) No.2, 1939, the Taman Negara Enactment (Terengganu) No.6, 1939, and the Taman Negara Enactment (Kelantan) No.14, 1938, implementing wildlife conservation activities, developing ecotourism-based recreational resources, managing training and public awareness programmes, and conducting wildlife research.

Tasks

Assisting in planning, coordinating, and monitoring enforcement operations, intelligence activities, searches, and inspections at business premises, residences, and national border entry points in accordance with prevailing legislation, and in compliance with established Standard Operating Procedures.

Serving as the Department’s Investigating Officer (IO), completes investigation paper (IP), and assists the Prosecuting Officer (PO) during case mentions or trials in court.

Monitoring the issuance of wildlife-related licences and CITES permits (the import and export of wildlife).

Preparing annual case performance reports by state and headquarters.

Leading officers in wildlife management activities to resolve wildlife conflicts involving agricultural plantations and human.

Coordinating and implementing wildlife management activities at headquarters level, and liaises with state departments.

Conducting the monitoring of the Wildlife Management Plan (WMP).

Managing ex situ wildlife management activities at the Department’s Wildlife Conservation Centres and Wildlife Rescue Centres.

Implementing public awareness programmes, lectures, and departmental courses for officers and staff, and organises joint training programmes with external agencies.

Monitoring and coordinating the implementation of the Department’s development projects, and performs administrative, financial, and human resource management functions at the state level.
