Sustainability Manager plans, implements and oversees organisational strategies to integrate environmental and social sustainability into business operations and decision-making. The role focuses on developing and managing policies and programmes to reduce environmental impacts, improve resource efficiency, and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and sustainability standards across operations and supply chains. It also involves monitoring performance, analysing processes and materials, reporting on sustainability outcomes, and supporting the alignment of organisational practices with recognised sustainability frameworks.

Tasks

Develop, implement, and monitor the organisation’s sustainability strategy, policies, and objectives.

Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, sustainability standards, and corporate sustainability commitments.

Assess environmental impacts through monitoring, audits, and analysis of resource use, emissions, and waste.

Advise management on sustainable practices, including efficient resource use and reduction of carbon emissions.

Conduct environmental risk assessments and recommend measures to minimise environmental impact.

Integrate sustainability practices across organisational functions, including procurement, production, and logistics.

Coordinate with regulatory authorities, external partners, and environmental agencies on sustainability initiatives and compliance matters.

Prepare and present sustainability reports, performance metrics, and improvement plans to management and stakeholders.

Oversee programmes related to energy efficiency, waste reduction, and resource conservation.

Promote sustainability awareness by providing guidance and training to employees on environmentally responsible practices.
