Construction Labourer transports and supplies construction materials, including bricks, mortar, cement, and sand, between storage areas and work sites to support masons and other construction workers. They perform physically demanding manual tasks such as carrying heavy loads, preparing and delivering mortar, cutting and distributing bricks or blocks, and assisting with scaffolding. The role also involves maintaining an organised and safe worksite to ensure smooth construction operations.
Tasks
Collect, carry and distribute bricks, blocks, mortar, sand and other construction materials to designated work areas.
Mix mortar and prepare basic materials to support bricklaying and masonry work.
Supply bricks or blocks directly to bricklayers and assist masons during construction activities.
Load, unload and transport construction supplies around the site using wheelbarrows or similar equipment.
Set up and maintain access routes, including wheelbarrow paths and basic scaffolding support.
Clean and tidy work areas to maintain a safe and organised construction site.
Clear obstructions and debris to ensure smooth workflow and safe movement on site.
Assist with demolition work and clean or salvage used building materials when required.
Follow site safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Carry out other general support tasks for the construction crew as instructed.
