Tasks
Set up press machines for production, including install dies or plates and adjust settings.
Conduct test runs and monitor machine operations to ensure proper functioning.
Make adjustments to maintain product quality and production efficiency.
Perform routine maintenance, including clean, lubricate, and replace worn parts.
Inspect finished products for defects and verify dimensions against specifications.
Record production data for quality control purposes.
Operate and monitor related machinery as required.
Ensure machines operate correctly with numerical controls or automatic-transfer systems.

Basic
Ability to follow work instructions and comply with safety procedures.
Basic mechanical understanding to operate machines and carry out routine checks.
Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and report operational issues.
Good hand–eye coordination to operate press machinery accurately.
Strong attention to detail to identify defects or deviations in products.
Specific
Ability to identify product defects and apply quality control procedures.
Ability to perform precise measurements using calipers, micrometers, or gauges.
Ability to troubleshoot machine malfunctions and perform minor repairs.
Experience with conducting routine preventive maintenance to minimise equipment downtime.
Knowledge of reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, or job orders.
Proficiency in operating various types of press machines including offset, stamping, or flexographic presses.
