Assembler is responsible for putting together components or parts to create finished products, subassemblies, or complex systems in industries such as manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, electronics, and industrial machinery. They interpret technical drawings and specifications to assemble mechanical, electromechanical, or electronic systems, install components, perform functional testing, and make adjustments to ensure products meet quality, safety, and operational standards. This role may involve using hand tools, machinery, or automated equipment and requires careful attention to detail to maintain product functionality and compliance throughout the assembly process.

Tasks

Interpret and follow technical drawings, blueprints, and assembly instructions to assemble components accurately.

Select, prepare, and fit parts using hand tools, power tools, or automated equipment.

Assemble mechanical, mechatronic, or vehicle components and systems according to specifications.

Inspect components and assemblies for defects and ensure compliance with alignment and quality standards.

Conduct tests and functional checks to verify performance of completed assemblies.

Adjust or troubleshoot components and assemblies to meet operational and quality requirements.

Document assembly processes, test results, and issues for records and reporting.

Maintain a safe, clean, and organised workspace throughout the assembly process.

Collaborate with engineers and quality teams to improve assembly processes and ensure compliance.

Experience with programmable logic controllers, sensors, actuators, and control systems.

Knowledge of basic electrical or embedded systems in assembly processes.

Knowledge of quality control procedures to meet industry standards and specifications.

Knowledge of reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints for accurate assembly.

Proficiency in applying installation, soldering, or rigging techniques to secure components.

Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and specialised assembly equipment.
