Tasks
Set up and start chemical processing machines and plant equipment.
Control, adjust, and stop machines and equipment according to process requirements.
Load, measure, and mix raw materials according to production specifications and standard formulas.
Monitor process parameters, meters, gauges, and instruments to ensure safe and consistent production.
Operate formulation units such as mixers, blenders, dryers, granulators, reactors, kilns, boilers, and coating machines.
Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs to maintain equipment reliability.
Transfer and handle products safely during production in accordance with regulations.
Perform in-process quality control checks, sampling, and basic testing to maintain product standards.
Record operational data, production logs, and deviations accurately.
Coordinate with quality control and maintenance personnel to ensure smooth operations.
Follow workplace safety, environmental, and occupational health procedures.

Basic
Ability to follow safety, health and environmental protocols strictly during chemical operations.
Ability to operate and monitor chemical processing machinery in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Basic mechanical and technical understanding to identify abnormalities and perform routine checks.
Basic numeracy and reading comprehension for measurements, process records and technical instructions.
Coordination and teamwork skills to support smooth and continuous production operations.
Specific
Ability to follow process specifications, batch tracking, and production protocols accurately.
Ability to interpret technical manuals, process diagrams, and operational charts.
Competency in implementing quality control procedures and conducting tests such as pH, viscosity, density, and filtration efficiency.
Experience with routine inspections, basic troubleshooting, and maintenance of processing equipment.
Knowledge of chemical processing machinery, including mixers, grinders, roll-mills, dryers, cookers, retorts, and reactors.
Knowledge of chemical properties, formulations, reactions, and safe handling of hazardous substances including personal protective equipment, material safety data sheets, hazard analysis and critical control points, and good manufacturing practices.
Knowledge of workplace safety and environmental regulations, including emergency response procedures.
Proficiency in monitoring operations using meters, gauges, control panels, Distributed Control Systems and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition systems.
Proficiency in using process simulation software and industrial instrumentation for process control and improvement.
