Blaster is responsible for preparing, handling, and detonating explosives in construction, mining, quarrying, and demolition projects. They assemble, position, and initiate explosive charges to break rocks, soil, or structures, ensuring operations are carried out safely and effectively in accordance with strict safety standards and project specifications.

Tasks

Mark blasting sites and assist in setting out blast hole positions, depth, and diameter according to instructions.

Prepare and assemble explosives and detonators for blasting operations.

Load explosives into drill holes and ensure correct positioning and secure placement.

Set up blasting arrangements and initiate detonation according to established procedures.

Inspect blast holes to ensure appropriate depth, alignment, and cleanliness before detonation.

Adhere to safety regulations and environmental guidelines for the handling, storage, and use of explosives.

Maintain and check blasting equipment to ensure proper functioning.

Communicate with team members during blasting activities and maintain basic records of operations.
