Chargeman Grade J1 responsible for carrying out the scope of maintenance and operational duties on electrical installation systems by ensuring that safety procedures/protocols are consistently complied with to meet the requirements of the Electricity Supply Act 1990 and the Electricity Regulations 1994.

Tasks

Assisting in managing electrical maintenance work for the department, including temporary electrical installations and standby services during official ceremonies.

Inspecting, testing, and identifying electrical equipment and components (e.g., main switchboards and sub-switchboards) in government buildings to ensure they are in safe and proper working condition.

Recording, maintaining, and storing electrical maintenance logs, ensuring all maintenance activities are documented accurately using forms and logbooks.

Assisting in carrying out inspections and audits of electrical installations in government premises.

Operating and maintaining low and high voltage electrical systems, including standby power generation.

Training, guiding, and supervising subordinate maintenance staff to perform tasks according to correct technical practices, procedures, and safety regulations.
