Map and Chart Mounter assembles and mounts maps, charts, and other graphical materials onto backing boards or surfaces, ensuring accurate alignment and secure attachment. They trim, reinforce, and affix materials, including applying muslin or backing boards, to enhance durability and suitability for display or publication.

Tasks

Prepare and mount maps and charts onto backing materials using adhesives, by hand or with mounting machines.

Trim, align, and cut maps and charts to specified sizes.

Operate machines that reinforce, tape, or mount maps and charts.

Inspect finished products for accuracy and quality.

Maintain and handle equipment and tools used in the mounting process.

Ensure proper storage and handling of mounted maps and charts.
