Carpenter constructs, installs, maintains, and repairs wooden structures and fixtures across construction, furniture, and entertainment settings. They measure, cut, shape, and assemble timber and other materials to build frameworks, doors, windows, staircases, cabinets, floors, or stage sets, ensuring structural integrity, functionality, and compliance with safety and quality standards. Tasks

Measure, mark, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials.

Install, assemble, alter, and repair internal and external fixtures, including doors, windows, panelling, and cabinetry.

Construct, assemble, alter, and repair wooden frameworks and structural woodwork for buildings, bridges, vehicles, ships, and boats.

Construct, assemble, and repair props, set pieces, and fixtures for theatrical, film, and television productions.

Sand, finish, and maintain surfaces to meet quality standards.

Maintain, repair, and operate hand tools and woodworking and metalworking equipment.

Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, building codes, and quality standards.

Collaborate with other professionals, designers, and directors to complete projects within deadlines.

Manage materials, inventory, and worksite organisation.
