Tasks
Read and interpret construction and rebar placement drawings.
Measure, cut, bend, and shape steel bars according to specifications.
Assemble and secure steel reinforcement cages using wire, clips, or welding.
Place and secure reinforcement accurately within concrete forms.
Inspect installations and finished work for compliance with design, quality, and safety standards.
Operate and maintain manual or automated bending and cutting equipment.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Attention to detail and ability to work in a team safely.
Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.
Physical strength and stamina.
Proficiency in using cutting, bending, and fixing tools.
Specific
Ability to identify and select appropriate types and grades of reinforcing steel for structural applications.
Competency in ensuring correct alignment, spacing and positioning of reinforcement prior to concrete pouring.
Experience with conducting minor maintenance and troubleshooting of steel bending equipment and tools.
Experience with tying and securing reinforcing bars and mesh in accordance with construction specifications.
