Grader (Oil Palm) inspects and assesses Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) to determine their maturity, size and overall quality in accordance with established industry standards. The role ensures that only suitable fruit is accepted for processing by identifying defects and non-compliant produce, thereby supporting operational efficiency and product quality in palm oil production. Graders also maintain accurate grading records and document harvest source information for traceability and reporting purposes.
Tasks
Inspect fresh fruit bunches (FFB) for maturity, size, colour, and defects, and sort and grade them according to established grading standards and inspection results.
Remove damaged fruits and foreign objects from the processing line as part of quality control procedures.
Record grading results accurately and maintain required documentation and reports.
Operate grading-related machinery and equipment safely in accordance with operational procedures.
Assist mill operators in coordinating activities to support efficient and timely palm oil processing.
Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and safety in the grading area in compliance with workplace standards.
Report quality issues, discrepancies, and operational problems to supervisors in a timely manner.
Follow established grading standards, procedures, and relevant regulations in all grading activities.
Skills
Basic
Ability to work as part of a team with mill operators and supervisors.
Attention to detail to accurately grade and sort fresh fruit bunches (FFB).
Basic record-keeping skills to record grading results and maintain simple reports.
