Tasks
Monitor swimmers and aquatic areas continuously to detect distress, unsafe behaviour, or hazards.
Patrol swimming pools, beaches, and designated aquatic zones to prevent accidents.
Perform water rescues, including surface and underwater rescues, when required.
Provide emergency first aid, CPR, and basic life support to injured or distressed individuals.
Enforce facility rules, safety procedures, and regulations to ensure public safety.
Inspect, maintain, and ensure readiness of rescue, diving, and communication equipment.
Provide guidance to the public on water safety and respond to requests for assistance.
Skills
Basic
Basic first aid knowledge and ability to remain calm and act appropriately in emergencies.
Clear communication and active listening skills to interact effectively with the public, team members, and authorities.
High level of observation and alertness to detect hazards and emergencies early.
Strong swimming ability and good physical fitness to carry out rescue and patrol duties.
Teamwork and coordination skills to support effective and safe rescue operations.
Specific
Ability to document incidents and report maintenance or safety concerns.
Ability to identify hazards quickly and respond effectively in emergencies.
Ability to operate and maintain rescue and pool equipment, including flotation devices and oxygen kits.
Certified proficiency in CPR, First Aid, and lifesaving techniques.
Knowledge of emergency drills and procedures.
Knowledge of water rescue procedures, diving safety, and aquatic safety regulations.
Strong swimming ability and physical fitness for rescue operations.
