Guard is responsible for protecting industrial plants, warehouses, houses, and other property from fire, theft, unauthorised access, and other security risks. They monitor premises, control entry points, conduct regular patrols, respond to emergencies or suspicious activities, accompany valuable transports when required, ensure compliance with safety protocols, coordinate with law enforcement or emergency services, and maintain accurate records of incidents.
Tasks
Monitor and patrol assigned premises to prevent unauthorised entry, theft, vandalism, or illegal activities.
Operate and monitor CCTV and other security systems, and report malfunctions promptly.
Control access by checking identification and authorising entry of staff, visitors, and vehicles.
Record particulars of vehicles, visitors, and movements entering or leaving the premises.
Inspect vehicles and goods leaving the premises to prevent unauthorised removal of property.
Conduct routine inspections of buildings, facilities, and surrounding areas to identify risks or hazards.
Follow established procedures when responding to alarms, incidents, and emergency situations.
Prepare and submit incident reports, and maintain communication with supervisors.
Assist with escorting or accompanying vehicles transporting cash, valuables, or sensitive items when required.
Inform and liaise with supervisors, emergency services, or law enforcement during incidents.

Effective communication skills to convey information clearly and accurately.
Good observation skills and attention to detail to detect unusual situations.
Physical fitness and endurance to carry out patrols and security duties.
Reliability and ability to remain calm and alert under pressure.

Ability to handle security incidents and conflicts appropriately.
Ability to write clear and concise security reports.
Basic first aid and CPR skills.
Familiarity with safety regulations, legal requirements, and industrial protocols.
Knowledge of security protocols and emergency response procedures.
Proficiency in operating surveillance and security equipment, including CCTV, alarms, and communication devices.
Understanding of access control systems and identification verification procedures.
