Child Care Worker provides care and supervision for children in day care centres, preschools, or residential settings, ensuring their safety, health, and well-being. They support a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes children’s physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development by assisting with play-based and structured activities. They monitor children’s behaviour, hygiene, meals, and rest routines, maintain a safe and clean environment, and report any concerns regarding children’s health or welfare. They also communicate with parents or guardians and follow established organisational policies and regulatory standards.

Tasks

Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities to ensure their safety and wellbeing.

Assist children with personal care activities such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.

Assist in organising and supporting play and learning activities that support children’s development.

Prepare and serve snacks and meals according to dietary and hygiene guidelines.

Engage children in games, reading, storytelling, and creative activities.

Maintain cleanliness and order in children’s rooms, play areas, and activity spaces.

Observe and monitor children’s behaviour and wellbeing and report any concerns.

Communicate basic information with parents or caregivers regarding children’s care and daily activities.
