Hawker/Stall Holder sells goods or prepares and sells food and beverages directly to customers from stalls, carts or temporary premises in markets, streets and other public spaces. They set up and dismantle their stalls, manage stock and supplies, handle cash and electronic transactions, and ensure the cleanliness and orderly operation of the stall in compliance with relevant health and safety requirements. The role involves direct customer service and day-to-day management of sales activities in often busy, open environments.

Tasks

Set up, dismantle, and operate stalls or booths at designated locations.

Prepare, cook, reheat, package, and serve food, beverages, or other products for sale.

Arrange and display goods attractively to attract customers and promote sales.

Engage with customers to explain products and provide basic customer service.

Handle cash and electronic payments accurately.

Decide on products to be sold, set prices, and estimate quantities required for daily sales.

Purchase goods, ingredients, or supplies from suppliers as required.

Monitor stock levels, manage inventory, and restock items as needed.

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the stall, equipment, utensils, and surrounding area.

Comply with local health, safety, hygiene, and licensing regulations.
