Food Preparation Assistant Grade N1 responsible for selecting, separating and receiving wet/raw and dry food according to the instructions of the officer who receives the food supply from the supplier. Store food in stores, chillers and freezers according to storage procedures as well as perform food pre-preparation, packaging and cleaning equipment and areas.
Tasks
Selecting, inspecting, and separating wet/raw/dry food items from suppliers to ensure compliance with contract specifications.
Storing food items in storage rooms, chillers, and freezers, and recording temperatures to ensure food safety.
Issuing food items from storage/chillers/freezers according to menu plans and standard recipes for cooking.
Removing and cleaning foreign objects to prevent cross-contamination.
Preparing portions of raw/dry food items as specified in the Hospital Diet Manual Portion Scale and Ministry of Health Malaysia guidelines.
Cooking meals according to diet type (normal, therapeutic, consistency-modified) and standard recipes.
Preparing or cooks meals for doctors on call, operating theatres, and other designated areas.
Distributing enteral formulas, specialised products, infant formulas, dry rations, and packaged sachets to wards according to requisitions.
Recording and distributing food items and packaging to wards based on daily orders.
Complying with all public service regulations, guidelines, procedures, and instructions issued.
