Assistant Prison Superintendent Grade KA5 responsible for assisting in carry out the tasks of general management, administration, finance, research, planning, development, training and security of prison institutions.
Tasks
Supervising and updating inmate management from the admission process until release in accordance with orders issued by the competent authorities.
Preparing appeals and Four-Year Statements for eligible inmates in accordance with the Prison Act 1995 and the Prisons Regulations 2000.
Ensuring that inmates’ property is properly recorded, stored, and safeguarded until release.
Responsible for the assigned block, workshop, or duty station, and supervises subordinate officers to achieve institutional objectives.
Leading inmate security control, physical security of accommodation blocks, and overall prison institutional security.
Operating the Integrated Electronic Security System and is responsible for any incidents occurring inside and outside the prison, including during the escort of prisoners.
Performing duties as an Intelligence Officer at the institutional level.
Acting as a Counselling Officer in rehabilitation, treatment, and drug abuse eradication programmes, including urine testing.
Assisting in the implementation of the parole system, delivers prison message talks, and cooperates with other government agencies in the rehabilitation of former prisoners.
Implementing prison management functions, including staff training, control of institutional development activities, and management of prisoners’ family visits.
