Cultural Officer Grade B1 responsible for cultural and arts development programmes. Provides advice, opinions, and inputs to the Minister and the ministry’s senior management regarding cultural and arts development programmes. Responsible for planning, developing, and implementing cultural and theatrical activities at Istana Budaya. Oversees the development of physical infrastructure or cultural facilities, such as the construction of State Cultural Parks and Cultural Villages, providing space and opportunities for cultural and arts activists.

Tasks

Carrying out the operation of technical equipment during the preparation process and performances.

Carrying out production-related work.

Working on moving sets and props in/out.

Assisting in controlling the entry/exit of artists at each performance in the programme being conducted.

Identifying safety features and ensuring that all stage-related matters proceed as planned.

Cleaning, tidying, and ensuring that all rehearsal spaces and performance stages are clean and safe for use before, during, and after staging.

Assisting in the preparation and operation of stage and technical equipment for each rehearsal and performance, and acting as a Prompter to performers during rehearsals or performances.

Carrying out production duties beyond office hours (up to 12 midnight), including performing duties as directed from time to time.

Assisting in producing special effects and sound effects, such as dry ice techniques, smoke machines, pyro, and confetti.
