Photographer Grade B2 responsible for taking photos, editing, preparing captions, and sending photographs of formal and informal activities to Photo Library Unit for reference and retention. Responsible for making film/audio or soundless video coverage, filming a special programme, providing equipment, maintaining the cleanliness of the studio and darkroom as well as ensuring safety of equipment inside and outside the department.
Tasks
Covering and capturing photographs, slides, and videos of official departmental activities.
Processing film, slides, videos, and CDs, reprints, duplicates, and edits them.
Maintaining inventory/catalogue and storage of films, slides, CDs, and videotapes.
Maintaining camera and video equipment and ensuring they are in good working condition.
Preparing audio equipment for official activities within and outside the department.
Collecting and updating planning information in slide format and preparing departmental activity albums.
Assisting in the preparation of departmental quality and social activities.
Skills
Basic
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in Bahasa Melayu and English.
Ability to manage administrative, service, and financial matters.
Ability to work in a team as well as plan and manage tasks.
Basic communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to use ICT applications.
Specific
Ability to operate camera equipment and knowledge of studio lighting and backgrounds.
Computer skills.
Knowledge of media cataloguing including classification and indexing.
Knowledge of media technology including manual, automatic, analog, and digital systems.
Knowledge of photo printing and types of film.
Knowledge of photography ethics including protocols, etiquette, and dress code.
Knowledge of photography techniques including outdoor and studio photography.
Knowledge of storage management including material storage and store maintenance.
Skills in handling SLR cameras and basic video camera operations.
