Social Worker provides professional support, guidance, and advocacy to individuals, families, and communities facing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges. They assess needs, develop and implement intervention plans, deliver counselling, and coordinate access to social, health, and community services, including specialised areas such as child welfare, mental health, family planning, delinquency, and community development. Collaborating with government agencies, NGOs, healthcare providers, and educational institutions, the Social Worker promotes social welfare, protects vulnerable populations, and contributes to the well-being and resilience of individuals and communities.
Tasks
Conduct assessments of clients’ social, emotional, economic, and health needs, including individuals, families, children, youths, and vulnerable groups.
Develop and review individualised intervention or care plans according to clients’ needs and progress.
Provide counselling, emotional support, and guidance through individual, family, or group sessions.
Facilitate access to resources and services, including healthcare, housing, legal, employment, education, and social support.
Advocate for clients’ rights and protection, including prevention of child abuse, domestic violence, and support for persons with disabilities.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, government agencies, NGOs, schools, healthcare providers, and community organisations.
Organise and facilitate community, educational, or therapeutic programs, workshops, and outreach activities to promote well-being and social integration.
Maintain accurate records, document case notes, session outcomes, and prepare reports while ensuring confidentiality and ethical compliance.
Support crisis intervention, emergency situations, and conflict resolution within individual, group, or shelter settings.
