Respiratory Therapy Technician assists in diagnosing and treating patients with respiratory or cardiopulmonary conditions. They provide respiratory treatment, operate and manage ventilators or therapeutic gas equipments, and deliver emergency care such as CPR when needed. Typically working under the supervision of a respiratory therapist or physician, they perform patient monitoring, maintain therapy records, and support care in a hospital, intensive care unit, emergency department, or outpatient clinic.
Tasks

Set up, operate, and monitor mechanical ventilators, oxygen delivery devices, and other respiratory support equipment.
Perform and interpret respiratory diagnostic tests, including spirometry and arterial blood gas sampling.
Administer prescribed aerosolised or gas medications safely.
Respond to emergencies by assisting with cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and airway management.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals and consult physicians regarding patient responses and treatment adjustments.
Educate patients and caregivers on managing chronic respiratory conditions at home.
Maintain, clean, and calibrate respiratory therapy equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
