Assistant Environmental Control Officer Grade C5 responsible for enforcing the Environmental Quality Act (EQA) 1974 and its subsidiary regulations, as well as the Exclusive Economic Zone Act 1984 and its subsidiary regulations, inspecting fuel-burning equipment, effluent treatment plants, and controlling environmental pollution.
Tasks
Conducting integrated operations with other enforcement agencies such as the Police, Local Authorities, and the Road Transport Department for the enforcement of mobile sources.
Assisting in carrying out enforcement inspections and investigations on prescribed premises, non-prescribed premises, and other sources of pollution.
Assisting in preparing monthly and annual work schedules and surveillance programmes for environmental quality monitoring and scheduled waste activities.
Assisting in preparing follow-up actions for investigations, including investigation reports, briefing notes, directive letters/field citation, notices of direction, compound offers, recommendations for prohibition orders, recommendations for licence suspension, and investigation papers.
Assisting in conducting investigations of complaints received and preparing equipment requirements for carrying out surveillance work according to designated stations.
Carrying out environmental quality monitoring activities (marine water, noise, air, groundwater, and others) together with technicians.
Monitoring the implementation of environmental quality monitoring by ASMA, updating data obtained, and performing duties in the Control Room.
Assisting in coordinating seminars, workshops, dialogues, Environmental Awareness Camps, and information dissemination activities such as awareness campaigns, exhibitions, and talks.
Carrying out patrol operations for open burning (hotspot) activities and emergency/disaster cases.
Conducting integrated operations with other enforcement agencies such as the Police, Local Authorities, and the Road Transport Department for the enforcement of mobile sources.

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in Bahasa Melayu and English.
