Tasks
Assisting a dental officer/specialist in managing an accident or emergency case during or after office hours at the dental clinic or operating theatre.
Supporting a dental officer/specialist during treatment using the four-handed dentistry approach.
Implementing and complying with cross-infection control procedures.
Preparing and using dental treatment materials and biomedical (dental) equipment before, during, and after treatment.
Maintaining biomedical (dental) equipment according to established procedures.
Managing a patient and a treatment room before, during, and after treatment, including assisting with a dental X-ray.
Providing oral health education and advices to a patient and their family, and managing referrals for a complex case to a dental officer/specialist.
Recording a patient’s dental health status (charting) and maintaining the treatment record.
Handling patient registration, payment, receipt, appointment, and medical certificate.
Assisting with general clinic administration.

Ability to provide advice and explanations to patients during and after treatment.
