They use non-invasive methods such as rehabilitation exercises, hydrotherapy, massage, and behavioural modification to improve the animal’s well-being, mobility, and recovery from injury or chronic condition. They collaborate with a veterinarian to develop a tailored care plan and support the animal with stress or anxiety through psychological interventions and positive reinforcement.

Tasks

Assess the physical and psychological condition of animals through clinical observation and basic diagnostic methods.

Design and implement customised rehabilitation and treatment plans for injured or distressed animals.

Apply manual therapy techniques including stretching, massage, and pressure-point therapy.

Conduct hydrotherapy sessions for animals with mobility and functional impairments.

Monitor animal progress and adjust therapy plans based on recovery outcomes.

Collaborate with veterinarians and pet owners to ensure coordinated rehabilitation care.

Educate animal owners on home-based therapy, post-treatment care, and long-term rehabilitation maintenance.

Maintain accurate treatment records and ensure compliance with safety standards.
