Assistant Pharmacy Officer Grade U5 responsible for providing healthcare services to the community by carrying out activities related to the supply of medicines, preparation of sterile and non-sterile pharmaceuticals, ward inspections, repackaging of medicines, sample analysis, and management of stores, inventory, human resources, and documentation, to ensure optimal pharmaceutical care and the provision of safe and quality medicines in line with the objectives of the Pharmacy Services Programme.
Tasks
Dispensing medication to outpatients and inpatients in accordance with the “5 Rights” concept (right patient, right medicine, right dose, right route, and right time).
Preparing extemporaneous formulations in accordance with the formulary and Good Preparation Practice for outpatients and inpatients.
Replenishing and managing medicine stock at the counter to ensure uninterrupted supply.
Collecting data for Pharmaceutical Management (PF), Medication Error Reporting System (MERS), and Adverse Drug Reporting (ADR).
Recording refrigerator and room temperatures in the designated logbooks.
Dispensing medicines in wards using Unit Dose (UD), Unit of Use (UoU), floor stock, or emergency trolleys.
Preparing sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical preparations in accordance with the Pharmaceutical Inspection Convention Pharmaceutical Inspection Co-Operation Scheme (PIC/S) to ensure patient safety and quality.
Performing medicine repackaging activities in accordance with guidelines.
Conducting analytical testing of pharmaceutical and cosmetic samples to ensure consumer safety.
Skills
Basic
Ability to carry out supervisory tasks.
Ability to provide advisory services to subordinates under their supervision.
Specific
Knowledge and clear understanding of the 5R concept, namely the right patient, right medication, right dose, right method of administration and right time.
Skills in applying and implementing pharmaceutical care activities to ensure the medication supply process to patients follows established guidelines.
Skills in handling laboratory equipment to conduct testing of pharmaceutical and cosmetic product samples.
Skills in preparing sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical preparations.
