Aquaculture Site Supervisor oversees and coordinates the daily operations of aquaculture farms to ensure the efficient, sustainable cultivation of fish, shrimp, shellfish or other aquatic species. The role includes supervising farm workers, managing feeding and husbandry activities, monitoring water quality and stock health, maintaining equipment, and implementing measures to control pests, predators and disease. The supervisor ensures compliance with relevant health, safety and environmental regulations, maintains production records, and coordinates harvesting and quality control to meet operational and market requirements.
Tasks
Plan and schedule daily aquaculture farm operations.
Supervise aquatic stock health management, including feeding, care, disease identification, and treatment.
Maintain and monitor water quality parameters, including oxygen levels, temperature, and pH.
Oversee aquaculture farm infrastructure maintenance, equipment functionality, harvesting operations, and water flow systems.
Implement and enforce biosecurity, environmental, and workplace safety measures.
Supervise, train, and manage farm staff performance and operations.
Conduct operational risk assessments and develop contingency and emergency response plans.
Maintain detailed records of stock performance, feed usage, and environmental conditions.
