Hatchery Technician manages and conducts daily hatchery operations for an aquatic or avian species, overseeing incubation, hatching, and early-stage rearing. Tasks
Monitor and regulate water quality parameters, including pH, salinity, temperature, and dissolved oxygen levels.
Feed and care for larval and juvenile aquatic species daily.
Clean, disinfect, and maintain tanks, incubators, and equipment to ensure hygiene and biosecurity.
Assist with spawning, fertilisation, and breeding processes.
Collect and analyse samples to assess hatchling development and health status.
Maintain accurate records of hatching success, mortality rates, and environmental conditions.
Administer medications, probiotics, or treatments to support hatchling health.
Prepare and handle specimens, materials, and equipment for laboratory experiments and analyses.
Conduct experiments, tests, and observations using laboratory instruments and procedures.
Analyse fish samples to monitor quality and maintain optimal hatchery conditions.
