Tasks
Conducting enforcement activities under the applicable Acts and Enactments.
Carrying out intelligence gathering, patrolling, searches, and inspections at business premises, residences, and national border entry points in accordance with the Wildlife Conservation Act 2010 [Act 716] and the International Trade in Endangered Species Act 2008 [Act 686].
Serving as the Department’s Investigating Officer (IO), completing investigation papers (IP), and assisting the Prosecuting Officer (PO) for case mentions or trials in court.
Ensuring that the issuance of licences and permits related to wildlife complies with prescribed conditions and procedures.
Leading wildlife complaint management operations by taking appropriate measures, such as providing advisory services, installing traps, scaring away, capturing and relocating, or culling.
Assisting in supervising and implementing wildlife management activities at the Department’s Wildlife Conservation Centres and Wildlife Rescue Centres.
Assisting in supervising public awareness programmes, departmental courses, and the Mindset Transformation Programme (PTM), and acting as facilitator and secretariat.
Leading enforcement, wildlife management, administrative, service, and financial duties at the district level, Wildlife Conservation Centres, and entry points.
