Assistant Conservator of Forests Grade G5 responsible for assisting District/State Forest Officers in carrying out tasks related to forestry activities based on the principles of systematic forest management, in accordance with government regulations and policies.
Tasks
Responsible for assisting in the implementation of tasks and instructions related to administrative duties at the district forest office or state forest office.
Responsible for assisting the District Forest Officer in the gazettement of forest reserve areas for permanent forest reserves and government land forests.
Responsible for assisting the District Forest Officer in monitoring and supervising forest reserve areas (permanent forest reserves and government land forests), forest development works, forest utilisation, wood-based industry development, forest produce extraction, management of recreational forests and forest nurseries, as well as the preparation of relevant forestry information.
Responsible for enforcing forestry-related legislation, namely the National Forestry Act 1984/Sabah - Forest Enactment 1968, Forest Rules 1969/Sarawak - Forest Ordinance 1958, National Parks and Nature Reserves Ordinance 1998, and Wildlife Protection Ordinance 1998.
The officer is required to ensure full compliance with the criteria and indicators for forest management certification in Malaysia.
Officers in the Sarawak Forest Department, also responsible for assisting in tasks related to the management of national parks, nature reserves, and wildlife.
Officers may be posted to government forestry training centres as instructors or assistant instructors for forestry courses.
Skills
Basic
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in Bahasa Melayu or English.

Knowledge of environmental conservation.
