Tasks
Set up, operate, adjust, and maintain irrigation systems and equipment including sprinklers, drip systems, pumps, valves, water lines, and related components.
Monitor water flow, pressure, soil moisture, and weather conditions to ensure efficient irrigation coverage and system performance.
Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs on irrigation systems and equipment.
Conduct soil sampling and assess soil and vegetation conditions to determine irrigation requirements.
Coordinate with farm managers or supervisors to optimise irrigation plans, and record irrigation schedules, water usage, and system performance.

Ability to read and interpret irrigation schematics and system diagrams.
Communication and teamwork skills to coordinate effectively with staff.
Manual dexterity for handling equipment adjustments and repairs.
Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot system failures and make adjustments.
Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems used in irrigation.
