Gas Plant Operator oversees and controls the operations of a gas production and processing facility, including the generation, liquefaction, and storage of gases such as natural gas, oxygen, acetylene, and chlorine. They monitor and adjust process parameters to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous production, maintain plant equipment, perform routine inspections, and troubleshoot operational issues, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards, accurate record-keeping, and coordination with maintenance and engineering teams to support reliable gas supply across industrial, healthcare, and energy sectors.

Tasks

Monitor and control gas generation, liquefaction, and processing equipment to ensure stable and efficient operations.

Adjust valves, pumps, compressors, and control instruments to regulate flow, pressure, and temperature within safe operating limits.

Operate filling equipment and perform pressure, leak, and safety tests on compressed and liquefied gas cylinders.

Conduct routine inspections, cleaning, and preventive maintenance of plant machinery, compressors, valves, and safety devices.

Monitor, record operational data, and maintain logs for process control and compliance reporting.

Identify, troubleshoot, and respond to process deviations, equipment faults, alarms, and emergencies to ensure safe and continuous operations.

Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, and quality control teams for repairs, upgrades, and operational support activities.

Ensure compliance with safety, hazardous material handling, and environmental regulations in all gas processing operations.

Support start-up, shutdown, and emergency procedures for industrial gas systems including oxygen, nitrogen, acetylene, chlorine, and other gases.
