Chemical Processing Plant Controller / Supervisor oversees and coordinates the operation of chemical manufacturing plants, ensuring that chemical production processes run safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality and environmental standards. This role involves monitoring and controlling processing units and equipment, supervising plant operators and technicians, troubleshooting process issues, and implementing improvements to optimise productivity. They ensure adherence to safety protocols, maintain consistent product quality, and liaise with engineers and management to support smooth, continuous operations within the plant.

Tasks

Supervise and coordinate daily chemical plant operations, managing operators and technicians to ensure efficiency, safety, and compliance with quality standards.

Monitor and optimise chemical processes using electronic and computerised control systems by adjusting temperature, pressure, flow rates, and raw material inputs.

Operate, maintain, and inspect chemical processing, filtering, and separation equipment, including routine cleaning and preventive maintenance.

Collect samples and conduct quality control tests to ensure products meet required standards.

Troubleshoot process and equipment issues in collaboration with engineers and maintenance teams to minimise downtime.

Conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, and ensure compliance with environmental and occupational safety regulations.

Maintain accurate operational, production, and incident records for compliance and process improvement.

Train and guide employees on operational procedures, safety protocols, and process standards.

Assist in chemical waste management and disposal in accordance with safety and environmental guidelines.

Collaborate with engineers and quality control personnel to optimise production processes and resolve operational issues.
