Chemical Petroleum Technician is responsible for supporting the extraction, processing, and refinement of petroleum products. They assist engineers in the design, operation, and maintenance of extraction and refinery systems, conduct laboratory tests on crude and refined products to ensure quality and regulatory compliance, and contribute to optimising production efficiency, product yields, and facility safety, spanning field operations, refinery monitoring, process control, and technical research to improve recovery methods and maintain reliable, environmentally sound petroleum production.
Tasks
Assist in monitoring, controlling, and performing routine maintenance on processing units, equipment, and laboratory facilities.
Collect, test, and analyse samples to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
Prepare reports, documentation, and operational records related to production, laboratory, and testing activities.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality regulations, including use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Assist in equipment calibration, installation, and troubleshooting under guidance.
Assist in laboratory analyses of solids, liquids, and gases, including preparation of reagents and standard solutions.
