Research Assistant Grade Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4 responsible in assisting to implement the development of remote sensing technology application packages, geographic information systems, and other related technologies (for the fields of agriculture, forestry, natural resource management, environment, disasters, thematic mapping, marine, land and infrastructure development, security and national sovereignty). Assisting in carrying out basic research and development of national microwave and UAV remote sensing technology. Assisting in implementing technology transfer, expertise services, technical advisory services to user agencies. Assisting in implementing the work components and provide remote sensing expertise in committees that are members at the national, state and other levels. Assisting in implementing integrated reception and supply of remote sensing satellite images and spatial data developed. Assisting in implementing technology promotion activities to consumer agencies, students and the general public.

Tasks

Digitising, inputting, and updating spatial data in the spatial database.

Assisting in the collection of spatial information and field verification.

Assisting in system analysis, user requirement studies, programming, and documentation related to application system development.

Assisting in collecting Ground Control Points (GCP) for the purpose of geometric correction of satellite images.

Copying, recording, and archiving processed and analysed satellite and spatial data.

Collecting, organising, cataloguing, and archiving/inventorying maps (digital and permanent print), and thematic layers obtained from relevant agencies.

Preparing inputs (such as satellite image prints and spatial data) for the preparation of related documents and reports; assisting in printing remote sensing satellite images and thematic maps according to user requirements; assisting in the preparation of documents, reports, exhibition materials, and briefing materials.

Managing the operation of the data storage room; assisting in inventory preparation, maintaining technical systems and equipment, and supervising maintenance work.
