They collect, process, and analyse geological and geophysical data, including core samples, while maintaining accurate databases, undertaking field activities under varying conditions, and collaborating with geophysicists and engineers to ensure reliable data for decision-making in oil and gas, mining, and environmental projects.

Tasks

Operate geophysical instruments to collect seismic and subsurface data during field surveys.

Set up, calibrate, and maintain geophysical sensors and survey equipment in the field.

Conduct field observations and measurements, including recording relevant environmental and weather data.

Collect samples and prepare materials and equipment for geophysical tests and analyses.

Assist in processing survey data using specialised geophysical software.

Monitor equipment performance and ensure accurate data transmission and recording.

Document survey procedures, observations, and test results in technical reports.

Troubleshoot equipment issues and support logistical arrangements for field operations.
