Maritime Superintendent Officer Grade T8 responsible for carrying out management-level duties involving the Malaysian Maritime Zone in terms of enforcing laws and regulations under federal law; perform search and rescue tasks; prevent and restrict the commission of offenses; provide assistance in matters related to criminalisation when applied by a foreign country; perform air and coastal surveillance and provide transportation services to agencies in need. Additionally, the task carried out in the Malaysian Maritime Zone and the high seas is to search and rescue; control and prevention of maritime pollution; prevention and blocking of swarming as well as prevention and blocking of narcotic drug trafficking. Duties performed shall be placed under the general command and control of the Malaysian Armed Forces during an emergency, special crisis, or war.
Tasks
Enforcing law and order under federal law within the Malaysian Maritime Zone.
Formulating navigational policies and implementing security policies for the Malaysian Maritime Zone.
Planning logistics management and operational planning.
Carrying out maritime search and rescue duties, aerial and coastal surveillance, maritime pollution control and prevention, prevention and blocking of swarming, as well as prevention and blocking of illicit narcotic drug trafficking.
Ensuring the smoothness and effectiveness of assistance in any criminal matter at the request of a foreign country as provided under the Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters Act 2002 (Act 621).
Ensuring rig services and support to relevant agencies are provided efficiently and effectively.
Collecting and evaluating security intelligence information and proposing enhancements to operational effectiveness.
Ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of maritime and aerial patrols and operations conducted within the Malaysian Maritime Zone.
Implementing and enhancing the quality of personnel training, operational training, and joint training within the country’s maritime areas.
Establishing close relations with other departments/ agencies in relation to law enforcement within the Malaysian Maritime Zone.
