Probation Officer
Probation Officer supervises and supports an offender who is released or sentenced to a non-custodial measure, ensuring compliance with probation conditions. They assess risks of reoffending, provide reports with sentencing recommendations, and facilitate rehabilitation to help the offender reintegrate into society. Tasks
Supervise and support offenders placed on probation or non-custodial measures to ensure compliance with probation conditions.
Conduct home visits and interviews to assess offenders’ behaviour, compliance, needs, and risk of reoffending.
Prepare rehabilitation and case management plans to support behavioural change and reintegration into society.
Arrange and monitor court-ordered treatment services and other community-based rehabilitation measures.
Coordinate with social services and community agencies to support offender rehabilitation and reintegration.
Inform offenders of probation conditions and conditional release requirements.
Maintain case files, records, and progress reports on offender compliance, rehabilitation, and development.
Monitor compliance with treatment and rehabilitation requirements, including substance abuse-related conditions where applicable.
Prepare reports and provide recommendations to the court on sentencing, probation progress, or adjustments.
